Abbey Road Farms – panoramic views of wine country

Abbey Road Farms is a farm and winery located in Carlton, Oregon. This venue has the most beautiful views of wine country and an absolutely perfect backdrop for weddings and events. Choose from a number of locations, all with amazing views including the Silo Garden, the Parlor Garden or the Wedding Triangle that overlooks the Trappist Abbey itself. The new venue building is called The Arena, and has a large lawn often used for outdoor ceremonies.

We sat down with Kristen, the director of events and creative force behind the new venue to get some insight:

1- When was the new venue built and what was the design direction/ architecture style?
The original building was an indoor horse riding arena built in the 60’s.  Our renovations to turn it into a winery and event space were completed in May of 2019.  Our goal was to keep the integrity of the barn but make it an elevated, classic, usable space.  (We call it “farm sexy”. =).

We kept all the original kick boards from the riding ring and they now surround the interior of the space.  We even kept some of the original horse stalls that now serve as a getting ready room, conference room, break room and smaller meeting room.

2- What is your venue capacity?
Our regular capacity is 200 guests indoors/ outdoors. Right now, we are in phase two so we can host 100 people inside and 200 people outside.

3- Tell us about the rest of the property, what else do you have onsite? Can event guests also stay overnight?
Our whole property is 82 acres; about 40 of which are planted with grapevines.  Guests are welcome to walk the property where they can meet our animal friends including goats, chickens, ducks, donkeys, sheep, an alpaca and a llama, and our newest addition three pigs!

There are a number of gardens and hang out spots including our Tool Shed to enjoy a glass of wine or just hang out.  We also have lodging on-site.  There is a bed and breakfast that resides in three grain silos on property and a 3 bedroom ranch house, for a total of 18 guests.
